The emotional core of the afternoon proved to be the 174-pound bout, with John Worthing winning a 15-8 decision over Tyler Stoltzfus. While the turning point of the match may not have come at 165 pounds, that bout was the one that allowed the Golden Eagles full entry back into the competition. Three of Clarion's bonus point victories came in a four-match stretch, allowing the Golden Eagles to clinch the team match with Ty Bagoly's win in the 197-pound bout. The Golden Eagles held the bonus point advantage on the afternoon, racking up a tech fall and two major decisions compared to just one tech fall for Lock Haven. Clarion has now won five straight duals, including two straight to kick off a three-match homestand. The Golden Eagle wrestling team put together a string of six wins in seven bouts to secure a come-from-behind victory on Sunday afternoon, with Clarion beating longtime rival Lock Haven 22-14 in front of a rabid crowd in Tippin Gymnasium.
